Synapse Fusion AI Value Briefing

Synapse Fusion · For executives

Clearer decisions, less time buried in paper.

Leaders are asked to read more, decide faster and have a credible AI plan, all at once. AI can prepare, summarise and test options for you and your leadership team, while you keep the judgement and the accountability. The result is time back for the decisions only you can make.

Executive Insights

See where leadership time goes, and what AI gives back.

Executive Insights is a module of the Fusion AI Value Tracker. Leaders log their own time-consuming work and can ask the AI coach for a personal plan for it.

  • A personal AI plan for each task: what AI can prepare, what you still check and decide, and a ready prompt for the AI assistant your organisation approves.
  • Try one idea for two weeks, then record your hours before and after. Only results you time and record before and after count as time given back.
  • A leadership view in totals: where leaders’ hours go and what has been given back. It shows totals, not one person’s entries, and no ranking.

Where the time goes

What lands on a leader’s desk

The pressure on leaders is rarely a lack of information. It is too much of it, and too little time to turn it into decisions.

Time and attention

Board packs, reports and meetings fill the week, leaving little room to think about direction.

Information overload

Market news, regulation and internal reporting arrive faster than anyone can read them in full.

Pressure to have an AI plan

Boards, investors and staff expect a clear view of where AI will create value, and evidence that spending pays back.

Risk and accountability

Leaders answer for data, quality and compliance. Under the EU AI Act, organisations that use AI must take measures to support the AI literacy of their staff.

55%of large EU enterprises used AI technologies in 2025, against 20% of all EU enterprises with 10 or more employees. (Eurostat, Use of artificial intelligence in enterprises, 2025 data (extracted December 2025))
71%of EU enterprises that considered AI but did not use it named a lack of relevant expertise as a reason, the top barrier in the survey. (Eurostat, Use of artificial intelligence in enterprises, 2025 data (extracted December 2025))

What AI can take on

Six places to start.

In every case, AI prepares and a person checks and decides. The value comes from your people knowing where to use it, and measuring what it gives back.

Board and leadership teamBoard packs and decision briefs

TodayStaff spend days assembling board papers, and leaders read them late at night.

With AIAI can draft summaries, decision briefs and the key questions from the papers your team prepares. The authors check accuracy and you decide what goes to the board.

Shorter preparation cycles and sharper board discussions.

Your own deskReading long reports and scanning the market

TodayLong reports, regulatory updates and competitor news are skimmed or left unread.

With AIAI can summarise long documents, answers your questions about them and points to the passages that matter, so you can read the source where it counts.

Time back each week and fewer surprises.

Leadership meetingsMeeting preparation and follow-up

TodayBriefings are pulled together at the last minute and actions get lost after the meeting.

With AIAI can prepare a short brief from the relevant documents beforehand and drafts the notes and action list afterwards. The owner of each action confirms it.

Better-prepared meetings and actions that are tracked.

Finance and strategyScenario analysis on spreadsheets

TodayTesting a what-if question means waiting for an analyst to rebuild a model.

With AIAI can help explore scenarios in your existing spreadsheets and explains what drives the result. Finance checks the numbers before they inform a decision.

Faster answers to what-if questions and clearer trade-offs.

CommunicationDrafts for staff, boards and investors

TodayLeaders write or heavily rewrite every important message themselves.

With AIAI can draft announcements, letters and talking points in your voice from your notes. You edit and approve every word.

Clear messages sent sooner, with your time spent on substance.

Leadership teamWhere to invest in AI and how to measure it

TodayAI requests arrive one at a time, with little shared view of cost, value or risk.

With AIAI can help collect and compare proposals, draft the business case and set out how results will be measured. The leadership team decides where to invest.

AI spending tied to results your finance team can see.

Rules that apply

Governance and accountability

AI can prepare the ground, but responsibility for decisions, data and compliance stays with the leadership team.

  • Confidential information. Board papers, deal documents and personal data belong only in tools your organisation has approved, under contracts and data rules agreed with IT and legal.
  • Check before you rely. AI can be confidently wrong. Figures, quotes and legal points are checked against the source before they reach a board paper or a public statement.
  • EU AI Act duties. Organisations that use AI must take measures to support the AI literacy of their staff (Article 4, as amended in 2026). Stricter duties apply to high-risk uses such as AI in recruitment, on the timetable as amended in 2026.

A sensible start

Small, measured, owned by your people.

  1. 1

    Start with your own work

Use an approved AI assistant on your own reading, briefs and drafts so you know first-hand what it can and cannot do.

  2. 2

    Agree what success looks like

Decide with finance how AI value will be measured before money is committed, in hours, cost or quality.

  3. 3

Back one team with heavy admin

Sponsor one team to use AI on its real work, train its people, and report the measured result to the leadership team.

Questions

What leaders ask first.

Do we need a full AI strategy before we start?

Not necessarily. Many organisations learn more from one well-measured team than from a long strategy paper. A clear view of where value lies and how it will be measured is usually enough to begin.

What does the EU AI Act ask of us now?

If your organisation uses AI, it must take measures to support the AI literacy of the staff who use it. Further duties depend on how AI is used; high-risk uses, for example in recruitment, carry stricter rules on the amended timetable.

Is it safe to put board papers into an AI tool?

Only into a tool your organisation has approved for confidential information, with contracts that protect your data. Consumer tools and personal accounts are not the place for board material.
